DBT Training
Dr. Bauer was first introduced to DBT in 1999 in Tacoma Washington at the University of Washington Child Treatment Study Center. Dr. Bauer was intensively trained through Behavioral Tech from 2008 - 2010. She has continued to increase her knowledge of DBT and related treatments, including DBT for adolescents. Dr. Bauer recently completed intensive training in the DBT Prolonged Exposure protocol for PTSD. She is the first clinician in Louisiana to be certified by the DBT- Linehan Board of Certification.
Dr. Bauer has taught courses and provided training on the Foundational Principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy at various organizations and academic institutions in the Greater New Orleans Area. She is available to deliver presentations and to provide consultation.
Forensic Training
Dr. Bauer was trained in Juvenile Forensic Psychology at the University of Washington and has been remained involved in Juvenile Justice work since moving to Louisiana in 2000. Dr. Bauer and colleagues facilitated changes to the Louisiana Children's Code to provide children and adolescents fair treatment consistent with their developmental stage. Dr. Bauer has provided legal training and expert testimony on adolescent development and on the divorce. Dr. Bauer has taught graduate level courses in Forensic Psychology. She is available for trainings in Forensic Psychology and Adolescent Development.
